Scholarships
The Institute funds places on its programme, as places allow, for individuals who would benefit from it and could not otherwise reach it.
Purpose
The purpose of the scholarship.
The programme is of most use to people with working lives ahead of them and no capital, access or instruction behind them. Most often that means young adults at the start of their careers. The scholarship funds a place for such applicants. It is not a hardship grant; places go to applicants the Institute judges most likely to make good use of them.
Eligibility
Deserving and exceptional individuals.
There is no fixed formula. The Institute looks for seriousness of purpose, a clear reason for wanting to understand markets, and circumstances in which the programme would otherwise be out of reach. Young adults at the beginning of their working lives are particularly encouraged to apply. Financial circumstances are considered but are not the only test.
Active and retired U.S. service members have a separate free programme.

- A funded place on the Institute's programme, on the same terms as any enrolled student.
- No cash award and no discount.
- Recipients agree to complete the programme and to a short follow-up conversation a year later.
How to apply
A short written application.
Applications are reviewed by Felix Prehn and a member of the faculty. Places are awarded at the Institute's discretion, as places allow, and the Institute is under no obligation to award a scholarship in any given period. Not every application can succeed, and the Institute is unable to give individual feedback.
Applications require a name and email address. No payment details are requested at any stage. Applicants may be contacted by email about the Institute's programme and can unsubscribe at any time. The scholarship is educational; nothing in the programme is financial, investment or tax advice.
