Governance and standards
The Prehn Institute is an independent research institution founded by Felix Nikolas Prehn, economist, tech founder and former investment banker. This page sets out how the Institute is run, how its work is reviewed, and the standards everyone who publishes or teaches under its name is held to.
Leadership
How the Institute is led.
The Institute was founded by Felix Nikolas Prehn and is led by him. Its research, reports and indices are produced by named authors and reviewed before they are published. Its instruction is given by a faculty that includes former hedge fund managers, institutional traders and market makers, all of whom have worked in professional markets.
The Institute is published by Skillset Solutions FZ-LLC. Post is received at Level 41, Emirates Towers, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, UAE, PO Box 31303.
Review
How research is reviewed.
Every paper, report and index carries the name of its author. Before anything is published, it is read and checked by at least one other person with relevant market or academic experience, so that its claims rest on sources a reader can follow and its figures can be traced. Where a piece draws on data, the source of that data is stated so that any reader may examine it.
The Institute publishes its work openly. Readers are free to examine it, to disagree with it, and to write to the Institute about it.
Standards
The standards the Institute keeps.
The Institute does not manage money and does not advise on investments. No member of its faculty tells anyone what to buy or sell, and the Institute does not discuss personal investment results. Its interest is in how markets work and in how professional practice may be taught.
Where an author or member of the faculty holds a position relevant to something the Institute publishes, that interest is disclosed. The Institute does not accept payment to reach a particular conclusion in its research.
All content published by the Institute is educational and does not constitute financial, investment or tax advice. Trading and investing involve risk, including the loss of capital.
Origins
Its origins.
The Institute's instruction began under an earlier name. Goat Academy was founded by Felix Nikolas Prehn as a community in which former Wall Street and City of London professionals gave instruction in how markets work. The Prehn Institute now publishes research and continues that instruction with the same faculty, and Goat Academy's pages lead to this site.
