1. What these standards cover
These standards apply to the research The Prehn Institute publishes under its name: research papers, reports, indices and press releases. They apply equally to work by the founder and to work by faculty.
Everything published is educational. Nothing is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or other instrument.
2. Sourcing
Every figure in a paper, report or index rests on a primary source: a statistical agency, a central bank, a treasury, a regulator, a company filing or a peer-reviewed study. Secondary reporting is used to locate a primary source, not to replace it.
Each paper, report, index and press release names its sources. Where a figure is estimated or derived, the method is stated. Where a source could not be verified, the figure is marked as unverified or left out.
Quotations are reproduced as published. Data are presented in the units and for the periods the source uses, and any conversion or adjustment is disclosed.
3. Review before publication
No paper, report or index is published until its figures have been checked against the sources cited. Research papers are posted to public repositories and submitted to journals where a suitable one exists.
Each publication states its publication date and, where it has been revised, the date of the revision.
4. Corrections
Errors are corrected on the page where they appeared, with a note stating what was changed and when. Where an error affects a conclusion, the conclusion is revised and the revision is noted.
Readers who believe a figure or statement is wrong may write to [email protected]. Each point raised is checked against the source, and the page is corrected where the point stands.
5. Independence
The Prehn Institute sells no advertising, accepts no payment for coverage and carries no sponsored content. No company, fund or government has a say in what is published or in what is taught.
The Institute does not sell, promote or offer for sale any financial product, and it receives no commission from any broker, fund or product.
